How to make a moodboard

I am having a bad day today - I have far too much to do and not enough time to do it - it also makes me really sad when I arrange things and nobody rocks up to see it - I had a gorgeous ex-student in today to talk about what it's like to study at Falmouth - quite intimidating when you haven't had to do a talk before - well she needn't have worried because hardly anyone was there - and some that were couldn't even be bothered to turn away from their computers to listen properly - probably because they aren't "doing" textiles - but I tell you what, if I was them and had the chance to get some inside info about what it was like to be at uni these days I would jump at the chance. God the apathy in the studios at the moment is dire - I have just collected in a bunch of projects which on the whole leave me a pretty cold - I know that I could never hand anything in myself if it wasn't absolutely the best I could do - and I tell you what, it would have been in on time too - but well, I suppose not everyone has the same principles.....

So, back to moodboards....

In the unlikely event that everyone turns up tomorrow with the required elements - a shoe box full of objects, images, text, textures related to their individual colours - a piece of A1 white card - a camera and some enthusiasm, this is what we will be doing in the form of work shops......

Put all your exciting finds in a box, bring them to college and then tip them out - take some photos of the whole lot.

Try interesting angles

And close -ups..

Play with layout now - take photos as you go...

When you have the right layout - stick it down and put it in your folio...... Voila - exciting talking point and great visual reference for the rest of the project.
